What the hell is Crossgen doing!!!!!!!!

Why are they canceling all of the books I read? Granted, this move is going to save me $20 a month but it still strikes me as stupid.

Crossgen is floundering. Most of their good writers/artists have jumped ship. Something in their exclusive contracts about getting paid! [img]wink.gif[/img] They tried to grow too fast and the gambit cost them much of thier cash flow.

This was a few months ago. Right now they are trying to regroup.

I just read the comic books, don't really keep up on the news. My comic book stores monthly newsletter didn't say anything about it.

Damn Cross Gen. The only book of theirs that I will be buying is going to be Sojourn.

Any idea how many customers that they are going to be losing?

I would guess a pretty big chunk. When you cancel the core books that got you started, that is bad.

They built it all up to this Negation War storyline. But I wasn't reading the books for the build up, I was reading them for the characters. So they have broke thier tenent with me, and I imagine many others.

Kiss Kiss will keep them some people and bring new in. El Cazador as well. But two books do not a company make.

There is another book, Abaccomethingorother. I am not reading those. I am not reading the Negation War. When they started this they promised no Cross Overs, no mini series, and no books like the Negation War. To be honest with, I never knew how they would pull it off, there is too much money in mini series, cross overs, and books like Negation War.

Abazadad, but it is targeted at kids, it won't do well, unfortunately.

I don't expect Crossgen to be around much longer unless they get their act together quick. It's too bad, I had very high hopes for them.

As did I. Their books were different, their characters more realistic, and the art was always phenominal. Ah well, such is life. I am guessing that Alessi handle things very poorly in terms of financing. The comic book guru told me that Crossgen had 80 full time employees, when comprable companies (Dark Horse and Image) have fewer then 10 full time employees.

Keep the authors and inkers names around, though. Every once in a while, put their name into Google. "First-name Last-name" with the quote marks so the search only accepts hits on the combination. Amazing what you can find on Google. Most of it's out there...

Most of the Cross Gen talent will write for other books. The problem is, they will jump onto projects that are already started, many of which I could care less about.

George Perez is donating his time to do the Sojourn/Lady Death two parter.

But 34 was the last issue of Sojourn. They might pick it up again down the road...but for now, abruptly ended.
